NIKON COOLPIX S6150 CAMERA JACKS REVIEW

NIKON COOLPIX S6150 CAMERA JACKS REVIEW

Just been putting this camera through my normal test and what a lovely little camera it is, it feels really well built and is incredibly simple to use. The touch screen is very clear and straightforward, I’ll go into more detail about this later.

The Nikkor lens produced some great images and prints during my test. Returning very nicely coloured and correctly exposed images with stunning sharpness and detail. The metering worked well during my test on various subjects and the camera focused extremely quickly and accurately.

16 megapixel CCD image sensor lets you capture outstandingly detailed images, crop creatively and produce stunningly-sharp poster-size enlargements.

Back to the 3” touch screen then, this enables fingertip control over most shooting and playback functions: simply touch your subject on the screen to set the correct focus and exposure, or touch the screen with your fingertips to scroll through images. Sounds very simple, well it is, all of the cameras setting can be found via the touch screen, including the following, scene selection, face detection, full auto scene select mode, flash settings (including blink detection and red eye fix), bracketing (exposure) and all the main menu settings. It’s actually a lot easier to navigate than a lot of non-touch screen cameras I have tried. There is also a very neat subject tracking setting and multiple exposure mode.

The camera has a built 4x anti-blur system which helps compensate for camera shake in the following ways,4x anti-blur automatically counters blurred images in four different ways. Lens-shift Vibration Reduction) reduces the effect of camera shake. High ISO (up to 3200) light sensitivity reduces the risk of blurred images with fast-moving subjects or in low-light. Motion detection compensates for camera and subject movement. Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically selects the sharpest of up to 10 sequential shots.

In conclusion then, I think this is nicely built, pocket size camera that returns very nice images, if you want a ‘point and shoot’ camera then this is definitely worth a look. It may not have the largest zoom lens, but at 7x optical, it does produce some of the sharpest images of have printed from a camera in this class. The camera looks really sleek and stylish and comes in a range of funky colours, if you want a stylish, slim camera that produces good quality images, then I would recommend this one.
