BUSHNELL LEGEND ULTRA HD 10x36 REVIEW

BUSHNELL

LEGEND ULTRA HD 10X36

‘Please note, these reviews are my opinion on the cameras/binoculars that I stock and sell, the reviews are not meant to be full blown technical reviews and I do not post any test images on line, they are designed to give you some assistance (in layman’s terms, as requested by my customers) when choosing a camera that is right for you. I try to keep them as simple and short as possible.

These reviews are the result of requests from my customers.’

These Binoculars are stunning, incredible clarity and razor - sharp, coupled with being very easy to focus. Just finished testing them and I think they are superb optics. The image is also very bright and very clear over all distances, including very distant views, like the hills around Porlock, I could not see any hint of heat haze or ‘chromatic aberration’ during my test.  The close focus distance of just 6.2 feet is also incredible and very useful for a close view of anything that pops up close by.

The colour reproduced through the lens is possibly one of the best I have ever seen in this class of Binocular, almost breath taking in fact! The ‘twist-up’ eye cups fit very comfortably in my eye socket and offered me a clear edge to edge image, without seeing ‘double’ or any ‘barrel’ interference once I had adjusted them to my eyes, which was very quick and easy to do. I really like the fact that they are deep enough not to let my eye lashes interfere, which are quit long. The balance and weight is very good, in fact with the rubber-armoured grip they feel very tough and durable.  They even have some decent lens caps that don’t fall off! I have noticed that on some other model the lens caps are not always very good at staying on.  It’s hard for me to explain but when I pick these binoculars up, they just feel like a quality pair. Everything feels well made from the centre focus knob to the dioptric adjustment ring. As I type this I am trying to think of something negative to say about them, but to be honest I can’t except perhaps one minor thing, I wish they came with a small soft case as well as the ‘premium carry case’ which although very nice is a bit bulky.  Each pair comes complete with a premium carry case, neck strap, microfiber lens cloth and a deluxe binocular harness. I am also selling them complete with a Bushnell Binocular Cleaning Kit. Don’t forget that as with most Bushnell Binoculars these come complete with a 30 year Guarantee.

Thanks Jack

 SPECIFICATION DETAILS

ED Prime Extra-Low Dispersion fluorite glass delivers amazing color resolution and contrast, and virtually eliminates chromatic aberration and color-fringing to bring out the most distinct details possible in low-light conditions. Why Extra-Low Dispersion? Unlike ordinary lens surfaces, the ED Prime Extra-Low Dispersion flourite glass used in our new Legend Ultra HD binoculars allows the visible colors of the spectrum to focus at virtually the same point. This helps provide improved color resolution and contrast, practically eliminates chromatic aberration and color-fringing, and brings out detail even under low-light conditions

The next generation of the world’s most effective anti-fog technology, it breaks up moisture even faster and more effectively than our original formula, plus a more slick surface to help clear the elements on the lens easier and faster. With Rainguard, Bushnell’s permanent, patented, hydrophobic and oleophobic lens coating, a foggy view is no longer an issue. This unique coating acts on water drops from rain, snow, sleet and even your own breath, reducing them into much smaller droplets. These tiny drops scatter less light, ensuring a clearer, brighter view.

An anti-reflection coating process that is customized for every lens element in the optical path, in order to allow the best possible light from the front glass all the way back to the eyepiece. The result? Optimum brightness and true color across the light spectrum. Ultra Wide-Band Custom A/R Coating System All lens surfaces are individually custom coated in order to maximize the transmission of available, usable light across the entire, visible color spectrum (380nm-750nm).

Some binoculars are O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged for total waterproof and fogproof protection. These models can withstand complete immersion in water and stay dry inside. The interior optical surfaces won’t fog due to rapid temperature change or humidity.
