Photography Expedition Monday 20th 2013

Photography Course Monday 20th May
Almost perfect weather for yesterday’s expedition. We decided to follow itinerary 1a with a slight detour to include Lanacre Bridge. So glad we did, Lanacre was looking beautiful and we saw some Dippers and listened to two Cuckoos! This was a real bonus for one of our guests who has never heard one before! The view from Whitestone’s car park overlooking Porlock Bay was great first thing and we even had a perfectly positioned herd of Exmoor Ponies complete with young foals to photograph, playing in the foreground. We also popped down to Nutscale Reservoir and found a nice herd of Red Deer and watched / listened to the Skylarks. The Gorse is in full bloom everywhere and looks great.  Everything is now at last bursting into life, it’s amazing how much greener everything looks in just a week! It was even warm enough to enjoy a picnic at Porlock Weir, complete with high tide to photograph. Watersmeet is looking very photogenic with the ancient woodland showing new growth, Dippers nesting and Wagtails catching insects.
Exmoor – Why Not!
