Photography Course Handouts The Photography Course Handouts now include new sections on Picture style management & a Quick Guide written by Jack. New Wildlife Hide New course locations coming soon, we are in contact with a local landowner to erect a new hide that I will take course customers to. Where w e should see some interesting wildlife including Kingfishers! So watch this space for more info. Competitions We will be running several additional photo competitions this year for our photography course customers. Jack Pyke We will be stocking the Jack Pyke range of outdoor camouflage clothing very soon. Course Accreditation Alison and I thought it would be a good idea for my course teaching skills etc, to be accredited this year. So as much as I hate being assessed I am looking forward to doing this, just need to not let nerves get the better of me. I always have some nerves the night before every course because I want them to perfect for the customer. However, they always disappear when I get in the ‘zone’ in the morning. We may need a volunteer/s to come on a free course when the assessment takes place, probably in April some time? Thank you The 3-hour workshops and standard landscape photography courses were very popular and great fun to run during 2015. We also shared some fantastic wildlife moments with customers during the RSPB Ham Wall and Red Deer Rut specials. We were able to show customers things they had never seen before let alone manged to photograph. One of our regulars Colin Brewer (one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet) managed to get a Marsh Harrier, Bittern (in the open) and a Kingfisher in the space of half an hour during one of our visits to the Ham Wall nature reserve. Although we obviously can’t guarantee this every time I was really chuffed for Colin who is obviously enjoying his photography and becoming a really competent photographer. My self, Alison and Jamie are looking forward to meeting new and returning customers this year. I have used our break in January to finish some of the items above, I have completely updated the course handouts that we work from during the courses, and customers then keep for future reference. Finally, as some of you know I had more problems than usual with my foot last year. I was offered yet another op to fuse the ankle, but have decided against it. So one of my fantastic children, John my eldest, a qualified sports physio helped me choose some orthopaedic style walking boots. Wow, they have transformed the way I walk; still the usual daily pain but I feel much more comfortable walking and standing.
